Ahadu ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Ahadu mobile application (the "App"), a classifieds marketplace for the Ethiopian diaspora community. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you register.
- Contact information: phone number and WhatsApp number you provide on your listings.
- Listing content: ad titles, descriptions, photos, price, and location (city/zip code) you submit.
- Device information: push notification token to send you updates about your listings.
- Usage data: pages viewed and actions taken within the App, used to improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To publish and display your listings to other users.
- To send push notifications about your listing status (approved, rejected).
- To allow buyers to contact you via the methods you select (call, text, WhatsApp, email).
- To moderate content and enforce our community guidelines.
- To improve and develop the App.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these cases:
- Public listings: the contact information you add to a listing (name, phone, email) is visible to other App users.
- Service providers: we use Supabase for database and authentication, and Expo for push notifications. These providers process data on our behalf.
- Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and listings as long as your account is active. You may delete your listings at any time within the App. To delete your account, contact us at the email below.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted storage of credentials (via Supabase Auth), HTTPS for all data transmission, and encrypted session storage on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
